Coca Cola and Dow Chemical Among Companies to Bring Consumer Focus to 2012 …

WASHINGTON, Apr 19, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) –
Biofuel and biobased product company executives, scientists and
government officials from across the globe will speak in breakout
sessions at BIO’s 9th annual World
Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioprocessing. The world’s
largest industrial biotechnology conference for business leaders,
investors, academics and policymakers in biofuels, biobased products,
renewable chemicals, synthetic biology, food ingredients and biomass
comes to Orlando, April 29 — May 2 at the Gaylord Palms Resort
Convention Center.

“As widely used consumer products continue to join the biobased economy,
speakers at the World Congress will highlight this growing biobased
economy, in which homegrown biomass resources are transformed into
consumer products,” said Brent Erickson, executive vice president of
BIO’s Industrial Environmental Section. “In addition to creating
consumer products industrial biotechnology benefits consumers by
revitalizing manufacturing and creating new opportunities for
agriculture, generating jobs, making greener products and cleaner
processes.”

Representatives from the Dow Chemical Company, Coca Cola, the National
Defense Center for Energy and Environment and more will discuss the
innovative use of industrial biotech in consumer products. As companies
continue to commercialize industrial biotech solutions building a
